brendan - fiddle, guitar     colin farrell - fiddle

Two jigs with my friend and classmate, Colin Farrell, a Mancunian of high renown. I don't know where I got the first jig, but the second is a composition of Séan Ryan, the great Tipperary fiddler.

A great jig and a child's dandling song from Connemara, set here in mellow fashion on guitar and harp with Jim on the drum.

brendan - fiddle, guitar     matt bashford - pipes

The first reel I learned from an old lp of Séan Ryan and P.J. Moloney, an absolute gem of an album, and the second is an overly common session tune, my interest reawakened after a master class with Martin Hayes. Matt Bashford is a fine piper from Limerick City.

One of my own, imagining what happened to families whose homes were flooded out when the dams were made.

East Pond lies in New Hampshire's White Mountains, and a '05 Village Harmony session stood on its shore and sang one of the songs I had taught them. I wanted to remember that moment, and had been wanting to create a version of Amazing Grace without that whole business of being a wretch and thus "East Pond" was born.
